Fairfax Library Foundation Selected as a “Critical Nonprofit” for 2024 by Spur Local

WASHINGTON, D.C. — We are proud to announce that Fairfax Library Foundation has once again been selected by Spur Local (formerly the Catalogue for Philanthropy) as one of its 2024 class of “Critical Nonprofits.” Every four years Spur Local recognizes the very best local charities, and we are honored to be listed among them again this year. This is the Foundation’s third consecutive inclusion on the list, dating back to 2016.

The organizations in the class are chosen through a rigorous application and selection process, conducted by a team of 170+ volunteer community advocates from local foundations, peer nonprofits, and the community. To learn more about Spur Local and all the organizations that make up this year’s class, visit www.spurlocal.org.

Since 1994, the Fairfax Library Foundation has existed solely with the mission to enhance the programs and services of the Fairfax County Public Library, the largest public library system in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable and educational organization, the Foundation provides supplementary support to the community by providing access to information, technology, innovations, civic engagement and entertainment, and by offering literacy and educational opportunities.
