Abigail Fine is the Director of Development of Fairfax Library Foundation since October 2015. Ms. Fine has more than six years of leadership, development, and communications experience at nonprofit organizations.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Fine served as the Executive Director for Bowen McCauley Dance, a non-profit professional dance company in Arlington with strong outreach programs for children and adults. She was responsible for managing earned and contributed revenue, leading a staff of five and a board of 15.
Ms. Fine has worked at arts organizations such as Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Arena Stage, Maryland Shakespeare Festival, and The Hub Theatre. She began her career in professional theatre as a director and assistant director, and continues to direct one or two productions each year. Ms. Fine serves on the board of Brave Spirits Theatre.
Abigail Fine holds an MBA from George Mason University, where she was named Outstanding MBA Student of the Year in 2013. She teaches management at GMU as an Adjunct Professor, on a semester-by-semester basis. Ms. Fine holds a B.A. in economics and theatre from the University of South Carolina.
“I’ve been a fan of Fairfax County Public Library my whole life, and I’m so honored to move into this position in support of the library. It’s a dream job for me,” says Fine. “I’m looking forward to putting my development and communications skills to work to raise money for the library.”
