Foundation Book Fair
Save the Date!
Our next Bookfair will be Saturday, April 15 at Barnes & Noble Fairfax! We’ll be raising funds and friends for Fairfax County Public Library, and celebrating National Library Week! Stay tuned for more details.
Fairfax Library Foundation’s Barnes & Noble Bookfair is an easy way to support the library! Join us on April 15 or shop online between April 15 – 20 and use our code 12092839—10% (or more!) of your purchase will be donated back to the Foundation. 100% of funds raised support programs and services of Fairfax County Public Library! Purchases in the B&N café count towards the fundraiser, too, as do toys & games, gifts, music, DVDS (and everything except for NOOK-related products)!
Special Book Fair Activities on April 15
We’re putting together some fun, FREE family activities for our Bookfair on April 15, in celebration of National Library Week. We’ll have a special tea and coffee tasting hour in the café, and two guest children’s authors with books that will entertain adults and kids. Stay tuned for updated announcements and the schedule!
Local Children’s Author Alissa Buoni will visit at 3pm with her book Oh, the #Adulting You’ll Do
We’re excited to welcome author Alissa Buoni to our fair at 3pm. Her newest book is fun for kids and adults. From Oh, the #Adulting You’ll Do:
Look at you, an #Adult, isn’t it fun?!
You’re awesome, responsible, and tired all in one.
Do you dream of the simpler days; you know it is true.
Before you had all this #Adulting to do!
When you were a kid you couldn’t wait to grow up
Well don’t you feel silly now drinking out of your coffee cup!
Tell your kids and tell your friends, really any child, woman or man.
Remember to slow down, and be a kid when you can.
A professional balloon twister from Dream Face Art will visit the Bookfair from 12pm-2pm!

Our November Bookfair was a big success!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2nd Barnes & Noble Bookfair in the store and online. We raised $650 for the library, and met many new library supporters!
On November 13th we had special guest authors Lindsay Smith, author of A Darkly Beating Heart (12pm-2pm), Natalie D. Lorenzi, author of A Long Pitch Home (11am), and Paul Herbert, author of Treason in the Rockies: Nazi Sympathizer Dale Maple’s POW Escape Plot(2pm). We’ll have children’s activities including storytime and complimentary gift wrapping!
To make the day even more special for our visitors, there was a professional face painter at the fair from 11am-1pm.
Our Inaugural Bookfair
On April 30th, 2016, Fairfax Library Foundation held its inaugural Bookfair Fundraiser at Barnes & Noble Fairfax, in order to raise support for Fairfax County Public Library. The Foundation is grateful for all the library supporters, special guests, volunteers and Barnes & Noble staff for making this event a huge success. You can read a wrap-up of the event here. We’ll be back for another Bookfair in the fall!
