Special Book Fair Activities on April 15

We’re putting together some fun, FREE family activities for our Bookfair on April 15, in celebration of National Library Week. We’ll have a special tea and coffee tasting hour in the café, and two guest children’s authors with books that will entertain adults and kids.

Local Children’s Author Kevin Sherry will visit at 11:30am with his books including I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean

Kevin Sherry grew up in Southern New Jersey before moving to Baltimore to study Art at the Maryland Institute, College of Art.

He is the author and illustrator of many children’s picture books including I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean (Dial/Penguin), which received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews, and a spot in the Original Art Show hosted by the Society of Illustrators. He is also the creator of the hilarious chapter books series The Yeti Files (Scholastic).

He is a chef, an avid cyclist, and a performer of hilarious puppet shows for kids and adults.

Local Children’s Author Alissa Buoni will visit at 3pm with her book Oh, the #Adulting You’ll Do

We’re excited to welcome author Alissa Buoni to our fair at 3pm. Her newest book is fun for kids and adults. From Oh, the #Adulting You’ll Do:

Look at you, an #Adult, isn’t it fun?!
You’re awesome, responsible, and tired all in one.
Do you dream of the simpler days; you know it is true.
Before you had all this #Adulting to do!

When you were a kid you couldn’t wait to grow up
Well don’t you feel silly now drinking out of your coffee cup!

Tell your kids and tell your friends, really any child, woman or man.
Remember to slow down, and be a kid when you can.

A professional balloon twister from Dream Face Art will visit the Bookfair from 12pm-2pm!
